BREED HISTORY
The Bulldog is one of the few breeds that are emblematic of a nation, and there is little doubt that a
species resembling the Bulldog has existed for centuries in England. Originally, the breed was referred
to as a bonddoggees or bolddogges. After decades of selective breeding, the Bulldog’s temperament
has been thoroughly transformed from that of a fighter to the lovable and gentle companion we know
today.
BREED FACTS
The Bulldog is a medium-sized dog that weighs about 55 pounds and stands about 15 inches at the
shoulder. Not your typical lap dog, though they would like to be! They are affectionate, loyal, and
they thrive best when treated as members of the family. The coat is short, smooth and glossy.
Shedding occurs with changes in the seasons and is quiet common during the spring and fall. Extreme
caution and close supervision around swimming pools, lakes, ponds and rivers is very important.
Bulldogs have great difficulty keeping their heads above water since most of their weight is
concentrated forward.
SPAY OR NEUTER
Undertaking the responsibility of Bulldog ownership requires a commitment of 10 to 12 years. Discuss
the advantages of spay/neuter with your veterinarian. Spaying or neutering your pet will not turn it into
a fat, lazy animal. Obesity is caused by overeating and too little exercise.
WINSWEPT'S BULLDOG PUPPY POLICY
All of our puppies are examined by our licensed veternarian and are in good physical health on the day of shipping. They have received all the necessary shots and de-wormings. The purchaser agrees to take this puppy to a licensed veterinarian within 3 business days for a health check. At this time your vet needs to do any test he/she feels necessary to determine that this puppy is health and free from any illness or congenital life threatening disorders. Should the puppy be found to have a congenital disorder, life threatening illness which is clearly attributable to the seller, the puppy upon the seller receiving written diagnosis from the licensed veterinarian, must be returned for another puppy of equal value. If no puppy is available at the time buyer will receive the first available puppy.
Puppies that are shipped are at risk for Coccidia and Kennel Cough which is common in puppies that are shipped and usually caused by bacteria. Kennel cough is self limiting like the common cold, it must run its course. Full recovery is expected and it on its own is not life threatening. Please be aware of this.
If a puppy dies within one month a replacement will be offerend prociding the buyer has a veterinarian autopsy report which indicates that a congenital/hereditary defect was the cause of death. Buyer pays all shipping costs involved in obtaining a replacement puppy. Buyer agrees to provide routine veterinary care of this puppy, which includes vaccinations, routine worm checks, heart worm treatments and records of such care should buyer have to return puppy for replacement. Buyer understands this contract will be void if the buyer fails to provide routine veterinary care, if puppy is sold, transferred or injured by accident or neglect.
We do not guarantee any common puppy ailments such as worms, vitamin definiencies, viral bacterial diseases or disorders brought on by parasites. Out guarantee does not cover what is normal in the Bulldog Breed: Cherry eye, Entropion, "loose hips", knees or allergies and demondectic mange.
We are not responsible for Veterinarian fees. Owning a puppy means regular trips to the Veterinarian and the buyer understands that he/she will be responsible for all payments.
There is no Guarantee this pup will be show quality, breeding quality, color or size, they are all different just like people. We are not responsible for temperament issues as they can be caused by lack of training, discipline or proper dog socialization which is determined by every dogs personality and the way the buyer chooses to train his/her pup.
If a replacement puppy is given you must return all AKC papers with the puppy signed back to the breeder. The puppy must be returned at the buyers expense before a new puppy can be sent. The New Owner needs to acknowledge receipt of this guarantee, we do not rely on verbal statements.
